"Leave me alone!" wil cried, sobbing when he was pushed forward, scvraping his hands and knees on the gravel. He scrambled up and pushed the boy back, soon in a full blown fight.

The ther boy ushed hm ard onto the floor again. "Go bac hhme, fag!"

"I'm not a fag!" Wil cried, struggling to his feet.

At teh mention of his mother Wilo started wailing and crying.

A nursery teacer came and gared at hhim over the op of her glasses "Whatever is the matter?"

Wil just sobbed loudly into his bear.

"Now don't be cheeky! You're bleeding quite badly, I think your mummy or daddy might wnt to come in nd get you."

Wil whimpered "I don't have a mommy or daddy"

"I'm not!" Wil cried, tears still pouring down his cheeks

"Well, you must have some sort of carer. Come wth me to the office and we'll cal them."

Wil niffed and followed, dragging his bear.

The scary ly with the glasses gave him to a nicer, kinder lay- the school nurse, pparently. She smiled. "Well get those cuts cleaned up. Why were those naughty boys hurting you anyway?"

Wil hruged "they caolled me a tranny-fuag" he mumbled.

"Oh, well, I'm sure you're not! You're a lovely little girl!"

"I'm a boy" mumbled Wil "My name's William"

Her eyes widened "oh! But... why are you wearing a skirt?"

"My aunt gets my clothes" mumbled Wil.

"Oh, well, I'm sure we can get her to come round. We'll call her and... anyway."

Wil stared at the floor.

His aunt stared with hawk-like eyes. "William, have you been fighting?"
